About the Job
The Role
No two days will be the same, as you will experience a variety of work in a range of challenging environments which will extend your knowledge and capabilities. You'll be joining a tight knit team based in the Whangarei Depot and be responsible for:
Upkeep and maintain powerline network standards by reducing the risk caused by vegetation.
Undertake tree removal and trimming to meet the Network standards
Responsibly operate and maintain EWP’s, Brush Chippers, Chainsaws, Hot sticks and Pole saws including all vegetation plant and equipment.
Be available for afterhours fault work and storm response (rostered)
We are committed to making sure our people go home safe every day, and with a drug and alcohol-free worksite we will require you to undertake testing as part of your pre-employment health assessment as well as participating in our annual health assessment programme.
Who we’re looking for
To be considered for this role you'll need to be an experienced Arborist with Arboriculture qualifications. Previous experience working around the high voltage network would be an advantage but definitely not a deal-breaker. Along with this, you’ll also have:
Minimum Level 3 NZQA Arboriculture Qualified or above or working towards your qualification while having good field experience.
Experience in climbing, felling, pruning, rigging and dismantling trees
A full clean NZ class 1 driver’s licence (Class 2 & 5 desirable)
Off road and 4-wheel driving experience (training provided)
Ability to cope with the physical demands of the job along with a strong commitment to health and safety
Liaising with customers in a professional and polite manner to ensure that they understand their safety is maintained.
